Our Story

When we purchased what has come to be Stonebridge Farm Nursery in 1981, we became the sixth steward of a 78 acre tract of land which was laid out in 1860. Being a like minded couple with a love of nature and a lifelong passion for growing, this move came to define our lives. Almost immediately we joined The American Tree Farm System. In 1986, Jeff made a career change from technical to artistic when he went from 15 years at the cable company to landscaping. Over twenty plus years he has morphed into an "artist in dirt", specializing in stone and water creations ranging from one of a kind water gardens to carved stone fountains and planting troughs. Jan jumped into the mix in 1995 with a farm based nursery business which is known as much today for its beautiful gardens as it is for its unique array of herbs, annuals, perennials and cut flowers.
